I'm so sorry for the idiots posting on your question.
The theory behind losing weight is to burn more then you are consuming. 1 pound of fat is equal to about 3500 calories.
1. DIET- the most important thing is to not starve yourself but not binge, When you eat, eat smaller meals and spread them out over the day. I am currently 210 at roughly 10% bf. I eat around 6-10 meals a day and the reason you are suposed to eat so often is to avoid having your metabolism shut down. When you eat smaller meals your body can burn everything faster and you are actually burning more cals this way. I'm not saying eat a few burgers every other hour but how about a bag of carrots, some crackers with cheese, soem fruit, etc. etc.
2. Train- if you are trianing your body to be at a certain level then go for it. Set some goals and acheive them the most important thing is to not set goals like, "I want to look like Jenna JAmeson" bc 99.999% of women don't look like that and honestly ITS NOT REAL!!!!!. Get in the gym, do cardio 3-5 days a week, low intensity will burn more fat and high intensity will burn both muscle and fat. I personally because I am trying to maintain as much muscle as possibly I do a slow job/ fast walk. IT doesn't matter what you do just doing it for no less then 20 mintues after you start to sweat and don't expect to run a 10k after a week, two weeks and/or a few months. Also, lift weight because your muscles aren't going to tighten up on their own.
FYI- your body weight isn't a measurement of how good you look. My gf is about 140 and she's 5'6" and HARD. beautiful! Anyhow, sorry back to what I am saying.
3. Consistancy- keep it up monitor your progress not others, keep your eye's on the prize and GET it.
I started at about 150lbs at roughly 15% bf which is ave for a guy but I wanted to be HUGE bodybuilder status, now I am 210 at 10%.

Before I answer this the one thing that kills me is people gaming for point, You ask a good question than people just type in don't eat, don't eat so much. Its like don't bother answering if your not going to give a real answer. Now that I am done complaining.
I lost about 75lbs. It took 1 year. I made alot of changes. I started slow. The first thing I did was start to drink more water. Now I hated water and it was hard to do. But I would start by replacing a cup of soda with water. It took while but after a few months it was all water I really acquired a taste for it. Along with that I ate slightly smaller portions and I tried to not eat or eat much after 6pm. Than I exercised. It took a full year to get that weight off, now its 3 years latter and my weight remains the same. You should approach dieting as a life change and something that you should do gradually so it really lasts. Also while dieting I still at McDonald's and The occasional cheesecake.

Drinking water... which I totally hated.
Substitution -
Blue Sugar packets instead of real sugar
Mustard instead of mayo on sandwiches
Rice cakes instead of potato chips
Spray butter (yes, not the healthiest crap I'm sure, but it's healthier than being over weight) - instead of regular butter
No eating after 8pm
Eliminate some stuff here and there too like... Cheese on your burgers... That's just 100 extra calories of fat for nothing... you can later treat yourself to about two cookies for that cheese you skipped. See?
It' took me about two years, but I went from a size 18 to a size 3 doing this type of stuff. I couldn't exercise because I had a lung problem. Everyone keep asking me how I did it and wouldn't believe that I lost 60 lbs doing what I just told you... And KEPT it off! Good luck :)
btw... I never called it a Diet...because diets don't work... I called it a life style change....because I had to do something I could stick with forever. The problem with diets is that as soon as you stop...you gain the weight right back.

The best diet tip you'll ever get is this. Are you ready?
Don't diet!
I'm being completely honest when I tell you that diets only make you fatter. They all work on principals of controlled starvation and restrictions. The promote the drastic slowing of metabolism over time, causing you to go on more and more severe diets as time passes just to lose a SMALL amount of weight. If you starve yourself, you body will hoard its fat reserves to keep itself alive. Eating is good! It's healthy and it's normal.
I recommend reading "Kiss My Tiara" by Susan Jane Gilman and "Overcoming You Eating Addiction" by...well I forget who that's by. But good luck in eating normally. You're beautiful just the way you are!

1. Eating many small meals speeds up your metabolism. On the other side not eating for hours and hours slows down your metabolism. This stuff is slightly arguable and not set in stone but you have to be more advanced and you have to know what your doing to go against it. In general it is the best thing for the masses to think right now 2. Cardio burns a surprisingly small number of calories. So the real place to get the best bang for you buck in burning calories is the raised metabolism that exercise causes for a period of time after it's completion. Well slow and easy cardio ( Jogging, jumping jacks, walking....) will raise your metabolism for and hour or 2 harder more intense but shorter quicker exercise( Running hard, burpies fast, running stairs hard, rowing hard) will raise your metabolism considerably longer making them better for loosing weights 3. Sometimes hunger can be caused by lack of minerals , vitamins...... so eating a cheese burger may leave you surprisingly hungry or unsatisfied. Things like raw vegetables and fruits can help you when you hit that spot in loosing weight where you don't feel full until you put back weight back on if that happens to you. 4. Use spices and flavoring to make healthy food taste good.

Hey there,
The Champ here..
Wanna diet?
Dont, at the cost of your health!
Dieting will only make ya weak! Instead avoid fatty and oily foods like french fries or burgers etc. Hey try and eat fruits and vegetables a lot as they help in bringing a glow to your skin.
If needed exercise... it depends upon you!

What really helped for me, ( I lost 65 pounds) was to eat a high protein breakfast like yogurt and cheese. I believe that including a good quality calcium supplement helps also, like Coral Calcium, they did a study and it does help you to lose weight especially in your middle. Also eat raw blanched almonds as a snack through out the day. They satisfy, are a good source of protein and omega 3 fatty acids. Cut out the regular sodas, they pack on the weight. Be good to yourself. Pamper yourself and you will feel better about yourself and be motivated to take care of your body. Walk, its the perfect exercise. You should be able to hold a conversation but prefer not to talk, that's your target heart level. Also do some light weight training. Read the book by Jorge Cruise about weight loss, its fantastic and very realistic. Good Luck!

Uh......that's a broad question. Eat well rounded meals. 5 or so small meals every day. 5 servings of veggies.. you can usually do so with 2 huge salads. Get at least 2 servings of dairy a day. I go for low fat yogurt, weight watchers ice cream, cottage cheese, or a small glass of skim milk. Protein.. tuna, chicken breasts, turkey burgers. And don't forget. EXERCISE. I do about 40 minutes of weights 5 or 6 days a week and 60 minutes of cardio 6 days a week. Of course you can do less than that. 30 mins of cardio 4-5 days a week. 30-40 minutes of strength training 2-4 days a week.

don't eat breakfast, only a light lunch for example salad, then you can enjoy a few beers or galsses or wine with a nice takeaway pizza in the evening. That is only if you're over 18 though!! I lost 10 lbs this way in like 2 weeks and really enjoyed myself doing it. I look much better now and it was no hassle.
