That is, not how much those particular coins would be worth if discovered today - but approximately how much would that amount of silver be worth in today's market?

I don't know how much those coins weighed, but if they were the standard today, which is 1 troy ounce, they would be worth (for the silver, not the coin) about $11.80 each, 30 being valued at just over $350.

(Additional Details)
The above figure was estimated from what I saw on the market at some time last week. Current market price is at $12.16, which would make 30 troy ounces just under $365.

Also, it was referred to as "pieces of silver", which are not necessarilly coins. And no where does it say the weight of a piece of silver, likely it wasn't 1 troy ounce.

Let's see ... 30 pieces of silver. Figure each piece weighs an ounce or two.

Multiply that times the going rate of silver these days ...

Tell me the weight and purity of the silver and I'll tell you it's value. Without either piece of information, your question is useless and answerable.
