cats are sensitive to change and behaviour! maybe the smell of you is offensive or threatening to the cat! i have 3 cats and i live in a flat. my cats have never gone out. the best thing to do is not to force your cat into doing something it doesn't want to do! another explanation is your cat is feeling your pain(hangover) and it is just it's way of showing you it's love and affection, or sympathy! maybe it's just excited to see you and gets over affectionate!

He bugs you more when you're hungover because he's attention deprived. While you were out getting drunk and being stupid enough to get a hangover your poor little cat was stuck at home all alone. Now your back and he wants love and attention and he doesn't give damn that your hungover. You should feel bad! Not to mention it's not a good thing to put your cat outside these days. There are all sorts of diseases he can catch. Not to mention dogs and cars. Then again maybe he will find a new home with a more attentive owner.

Im not sure why he does this. Mabe he thinks your unwell. Sometimes cats are aggressive to other sick cats even if they were friends before. I think its a defence thing. Dunno. I dont think its anything at all to do with your cat being an indoor cat. I have three cats and they are all indoor cats as well. If i let them out they will wail loudly non stop till i let them back in again. I could leave the front door open all day and they still wouldnt go out. Im happy with that cause it means my cats never get fleas, no chance of any1 being cruel to them or them getting injured by another cat or on the road etc. if your cat doesnt want to go out, you shouldnt make it. My cats are happy being indoors.

I reckon your cat senses that you feel rough. Also, its not very good for him to stay inside all the time - that is the root of the problem. Probably he has got a big dose of laziness. Put him out, go out yourself, let him in and feed him when you get back. This should work. Remember your cat is much more clued up than you are. Mind you if I had a hangover, I would just put him out anyway. good luck. Probably you were overprotective when he was a kitten.

It's because he loves you to bits, so he is protecting you in his own way. And I understand that not all cats are outdoor cats, so try to stop worrying about him. And I am sure if he was getting a real nuisance with his meowing the neighbours would soon let you know.

Enjoy his company!

If you live in a flat, keep your cat indoors at all times, with a clean litter tray and plenty of toys. Flats are a good environment, provises the cat cant access open windows, or balconies. Letting him/her out is fraught with danger for your pet, so keep him inside. He is agitated because he thinks your'e ill!!! he obviously loves you, so give him a long, safe and happy life by not letting him out at all.

First of all, why are you drunk in the first place? You wouldn't be having this problem if you weren't drunk. Maybe your cat is trying to tell you that you really shouldn't be drinking, did you ever think of that? I don't think so. Personally, I'd be doing the same thing if I were your cat.

Count yourself lucky it's not the opposite problem and let your cat stay in! I'll tell ya, every time I come in I have to put my foot in first after opening the door just a crack just to keep my critters from flying OUT. Every time we cook out on the deck and we're coming in and out the cats have to be shut in a room so they won't get out the door. ...And he's pestering you out of sympathy. He knows you're not feeling great.

I swear, cats just instinctively know when we are not well and don't want to be bothered, and that's when they decide they're gonna love us even more. Try being in a rush to get to work, trying to get in the shower and having a calico decide that at that very moment she needs you to love on her...I get that everytime I sleep through my alarm and am running late.

I think it realizes how truly worthless you are as a person and is trying to get you out of its house. Either that, or he's waiting for you to go to sleep, so that he can smother you and swallow your soul, like in Cat's Eye.
