I was told that yogurt burns fat and I want to know if it's true. What is so special about it that will cause weight loss? And is there a certain type of yougurt that will do this (brand names).

Also, I've been told that a yogurt a day keep yeast infections away. Is this true? Ladies, let me know what you think. Have you hurd about these things?

Yogurt in and of itself will not cause weight loss...but what it does do is provide a good source of calcium, calcium means your body has the needed element to maintain a rapid metabolism, and so indirectly yogurt helps with that.
Yogurt doesn't keep yeast infections away, unless you use it as a douche. What yogurt does is replace the bacteria in your gut that you need for digestion. The bacteria will also eat yeast but there is no connection between your gut and your vagina if you are normal.

My aunt has a degree in nutritional medicine, and I can tell you that both of those stories are untrue. While yogurt is a lot better for you than, say, a Snickers bar, simply eating yogurt and not changing anything else about your diet will not help weight loss efforts. There are other ways that are much more effective in weight loss, like cutting soft drinks and fruit juice out of your diet (they're both LOADED with sugar). As for yeast infections, the active cultures in yogurt are digested and metabolized out long before they have a chance to affect a woman's yeast levels.

First of all the problem with america is that every one is too lazy to work out. You can it yogurt every day and still be fat. What commerical food ads need to tell people that they need to do some excersizing after eating then you will start losing wait.

There are to many girls that i see with great figures and yet they eat junk food 24/7

Yogurt as part of a reduced calorie diet can aid in the loss of weight. On thing about dairy products that helps the human body burn calories is Calcium. Calcium is very hard for the body to break down but the human body requires it so it will use additional calories to break down the calcium and use it. There is a brief discussion about this in The ABS Diet by David Zinczenko.

Generally you shouldn't eat 2-3 hours before bed. If you are really hungry, then you can eat a very small, easy-to-digest, and preferably healthy snack to get you by. But the reasoning is that when you sleep, all of your body functions slow down, so some of the food you eat may not be digested and will turn into fat.

A yogurt a day is good to prevent yeast infections. It helps to stabilize all the good bacteria in your body. Also, dairy products in general are supposed to help burn more fat in your body. I eat yogurt every day.

NO, it's doesn't burn fat.
Eating low-fat, low-sugar yogurt is good for a diet because it fills you up with very few calories. People use it as a diet food.
