I would start by asking others that are invited what they're getting for her or if they know of anything that she really needs. If that doesn't get you very far then a few of the things that I received for my bridal shower that I thought were great (not off my registry) were: a certificate to the spa- it wasn't much but it was enough to get a manicure and just relax for that short time in the midst of planning the biggest day of my life!, gift cards to Home Depot, Linens N Things, or WalMart/Target- you really can't go wrong there seeing that then she will be able to pick out something she really wants or needs!
Good Luck!

This is too easy - Since you don't "think" she's registered anywhere, the obvious thing to do is ask! As this is a family member, you shouldn't have any trouble asking him! But remember, gift registries are usually for wedding gifts, not bridal shower gifts.
To select a nice shower gift, think of how her life might change once married. Will she be expected to entertain? Then some nice silver or crystal pieces would be appropriate. Will she be having children? How about a day at the spa? Maybe even a pre-wedding massage appointment - to calm the nerves.
Remember, the shower is all about the bride-to-be, not the couple. So focus on something that will make her feel special.

You should definitely call your family and find out where she is registered. If she has a shower, it would only be appropriate for her to have a registry!
Also, it would be a good idea to ask if there is a theme to the bridal shower. And that can help give you an idea what to buy her.

Money is always the best gift. I just went to a bridal shower a week ago. Another thing is give her a nice gift certificate for a body massage or manicure and pedicure.

I would say a gift card for someplace that sells homegoods. I love Target, Pier 1, Linens and Things...places like that. Depending on your financial situation, anywhere from $15 to $50 or more would be a useful gift for any bride!

For my bridal shower, I got an amazing picture frame! I put the pic of us getting married in it, and now its on my bar table. That present came from a family member on his side that I didnt know very well... and I LOVE IT!

The best bet is a gift certificate to somewhere like Crate and Barrel or Pier 1. These places have alot of great things for the home and a huge selection to suite anyones taste. Since you don't know her well, it means that you don't pick out a gift she won't like or never use...with a gift certificate it's best so they get what they want or need.

Gift certificates are always nice. Try Victoria'a Secret, or anywhere where you would shop.
I have a motto with buying gifts: Never buy something for someone that you would not buy for yourself.

A American Express Gift Card. She can shop anywhere she wants for herself, anything that she needs for the house, wedding, etc. She will be grateful.
