would it not be considered as faith to ask god to prove himself in some way and then expect it to happen?

It may be o.k. if you annouce that it's coming like the emergency broadcast test on TV: "This is a test. It is only a test."
I'm not real sure on this one, better check with one of the religious fanatics on here....I'm sure one or two of 'em have already given you an answer.

I don't understand your connection between testing God and Moses and the burning bush! God appeared to Moses in the burning bush because noone is able to look upon God. It had nothing to do with testing God. Jesus said that it is wrong to test God when he was in the desert, being tested by Satan.

Faith is knowing the unknown. Sort of like the non-belivers say they need proof like science, even though science is full of theorys and experiments. Faith is knowing there is something greater that yourself without seeing with your own eyes. This is where alot of poeple miss out, because they can't see it they don't believe it, which is your right. But I would rather live my life for the Lord, die and find out I was wrong rather than live my life not believing and die and find out I was wrong. It is a choice we all have to make, Choose Wisely. And Bless you no matter your decision!

Moses didn't test God. He simply needed reassurance as to why God was sending him, and not some more self-confident man, to confront Pharaoh and lead the Hebrews to freedom.
Moses wasn't testing God. He was simply recongizing his own weakness, and asking God for help.

Fact is God has already proven Himself. In Old Testament, He was maybe even showing those proofs of Himself to select individuals becasue He knew they would tell what happened to their descendants.
I guess one has to have faith and be obedient some, in order to really get as close to God as the individuals to whom God proved himself in the Bible.

We should never "test God." We can ask him to answer our prayers and he will, but it may not always be the answer we want. I asked God to answer my prayers for the last year about if I could trust my husband and if he loved me. I kept asking for signs and boy did he give them to me. I totally found out after 30 years of marriage he had lied, deceived and cheated on me. God has been there for me and led me through this time in my life. I thank him for answering my prayers even if it was not the answer I wanted. I am not a religious freak, I do not believe in religion, as they all claim to be the only one to save you, but I do believe in God and Jesus is my savior.

Because God told us He was going to send us a Messiah.Someone to die for us & all we had to do was accept Him & be baptized like he showed us.
This laid to rest all God's need to keep proving Himself, but unfortunately, alot of ppl didn't listen!
We are living in the New Testament now,not the old!

I feel that history has been written and lessons told. Jesus was sent and died for us and lets not forget people can be made into saints for a certain amount of miracles.
Good question, maybe no one is brave enough to test God's wrath

Not the same thing. Pharoah needed to be convinced of God's power, or he'd never let the Israelites go. Unfortunately, it took three signs and ten plagues till he succeeded.

It wasn't right to test God in any days but they did in their dispair which many of us would. It wasn't right though. God had mercy and showed them the way and helped him.
People sometimes say God doesn't answer prayer but sometimes the answer is no.
