Do other diseases mimic iron deficiency anemia?

like would a dr. think you have iron deficency anemia according to blood test but turn out to be another disease or disorder? and is this a common mistake?

Mimic in what way? Microcytosis? Hypochromasia? Or just the symptoms of anemia? Thalassemia comes to mind. . .
