What do you think? Theists pull this all the time. But I contest (since they are obviously wrong) that belief does cost humanity. Not in the same old worn-out ways of discrimination, $ lost to tithing, and general misinformation, but because theism promotes reproduction in a world that theists don't think is worth living in. Theists only TOLERATE earth until they can get somewhere better. Since there is nowhere better, and they KEEP BRINGING NEW PEOPLE HERE, they are hurting the new people, according to their own standards. Theists are causing new people to live this sencond-rate life on this unjust planet in RECORD NUMBERS, and then just burying them. Isn't that aweful?

With the infinity that god took to dream up this world, I would think she could have done a better job, and if this world is so bad, what makes you think the next one will be any better?

Well not "you", but the people you speak of.

We were evolved by the world mind in order to bring about the next great mass extinction. The volcanism of the world has become minimal, so that can't do the job any more, and the world can't count on another asteroid.

All that aside, the argument put forth is worthless, not because of over population, but because opposing religions insist that those who do not adhere to their form of religion will go to hell. Thus, while the atheist may be wrong and end up in hell, the catholic will be right along side him or her if the Muslims and/or Jews are right. The Protestants have so many sects it hard to say which of them consign which others to hell. And the Unitarians are just trying to hedge their bets, which no jealous Deity would really tolerate. As for Hindus and Buddhists beliefs, in some sense, we are all already in hell, and through various re-incarnations, trying to work ourselves off the wheel of existence and into nirvana.

But for and really fun examination of the properties of hell follow this link:

I see that kind of statement here all the time. I was wondering if I should put any time to answering this question because then I feel like I need to answer couple other of your questions.

We Christians are not perfect, not at all. We need Christ. We admit that we have a sin problem and we are leaving it to Jesus. If I am wrong, I will lose eternity with my Lord. So I consider that t is a big loss for me, because I want to be with my God face to face when I die. I want to be in heaven without the laws of physics. I want to be in heaven where the time is never issue anymore. We were made to last. I am not even worried about the money what I give to Kingdom purposes. I have regretted a lot of things but I have never regretted giving money so other human beings would have clothing, food and water, shelter somekind etc. I only wish I could give more.

I love to live here, but when the last day comes...I am going to go to even better place. Jesus is preparing that place for all of us. But what is a good thing that you do not have to be with Him if you do not want to. So if you do not give the time of your day to God, I do not think that you would like it in heaven...If you do not just love to worship Him here, I do not think that you would like it in the Father's house. So in that means, I personally do not think that you will regret missing heaven...and since you do not even believe in that stuff, do not even worry what we Christians say. But if you do wish to be in heaven, the Bible is very clear about the way. The only way is Jesus. My God was aware of people worshiping other gods, and He told us not to worship any other gods. God wants us to live in peaceful manner. He gave us free will, we must use it wisely. The Gospel is the good news about that God loves you, and He will respect your choice. So do I.

The problem with the quote is that it's a fallacy - false dichotomy, IIRC. Basically, it posits that there are only two possibilities: that the Christians are right, or that there is no deity at all. It completely rules out the possibility that there is something else out there, but that it's not what the Christians believe.

Wrong.

I do not TOLERATE earth, I love it! I love every breath, every person, every blade of grass! Every scientific law. Gratitude causes me to live in the moment. Sorry you feel this way and
forgive me: I think it is awfully narrow.

Fire and brimstone preaching brings a tear to my eye:

Repent to the Lord or burn in perdition!

Got that from a street preacher.

I can't stand when people say that. It's not a matter of being right or wrong. It's my belief (or lack thereof) You can't make me believe in fairy tales by fear of being wrong. You just can't make me believe.
