Use the microwave oven correctly. While the oven is preheating, DEFROST and/or pre-cook in the microwave oven. In fact, use a slightly higher oven setting, so it does the CRISPY faster.

Some things taste good the way a microwave cooks them, but personally I prefer taking the time to us the oven. It really does almost always tastes better that way.

I agree. When I have the time I use the oven. The frozen taquitos taste so much better from the oven than the microwave.

Microwaves also change the molecular structure of foods and beverages after only 7 seconds. This makes anything you heat in one TOXIC! Russia banned the things in the 1980's because they learned this fact.

I don't use microwave ovens even though I went to school to learn how to cook anything with them because the heat is so intense that your food is virtually drained of all nutritional value.

I won't have one in the house quick or not. And nothing will give you a crisp texture and colour like traditional methods of cooking.

Plan your meals and you won't need a microwave.

Microwaves are excellent for meals on the go and reheating food. Other than that. I would use the oven.

Yes, usually things I make in the microwave turn out a little bit nasty. Here are some good microwave recipes that turn out delightfully delicious!

Microwave Scalloped Potatoes
4 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
2 T. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 1/2 cup milk
1 T. butter
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
parsley flakes
Arrange sliced potatoes in a greased 2 1/2 quart microwaveable dish. Sprinkle with flour, salt, and onion. Mix lightly. Stir in milk and dot with butter. Cook, covered 15 to 18 minutes, stirring every 4 minutes. Rest, covered 5 minutes (the potatoes, not you.) sprinkle cheese over top and mix gently. garnish with parsley flakes.

Microwave Pizza Casserole
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1 can (16 ounces) pizza sauce
1 can (4 ounces) sliced mushrooms
4 ounces sliced pepperoni
1/2 teaspoon salt, optional
2 cups uncooked noodles
1-1/2 cups water
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon basil leaves, crushed
3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

In a 2-qt. casserole dish, microwave the ground beef for 3-1/2 minutes; stir and microwave another 2-1/2 minutes or until done. Drain thoroughly. Add remaining ingredients except cheese; mix well. Cook for 17 minutes on HIGH, stirring twice during cooking. Sprinkle cheese over casserole; cook 1 minute on HIGH until cheese is melted.

Microwave Stir-Fry
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt, optional
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1 pound boneless sirloin steak, cut into 1/8-inch strips
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes
3 medium carrots, julienned
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1 cup julienned zucchini
1-1/2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
Hot cooked rice

In a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag, combine the first four ingredients. Add meat and toss to coat. Pour oil into a shallow 2-qt. microwave-safe dish; arrange meat evenly in dish. Cover and microwave at 50% power for 6 minutes, stirring once; set aside. Drain tomatoes, reserving juice; set tomatoes aside. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine tomato juice, carrots, onion, basil and oregano. Cover and microwave on high for 4 minutes, stirring once. Pour over meat; add the tomatoes, zucchini and mushrooms. Cover and microwave at 50% power for 12 minutes, stirring several times. Let stand for 3 minutes. Serve over rice.

Hope you like them!

You should refrain from using your microwave as much as possible. Microwaves kill any nutrients that are in your food. They can even cause cancer. We don't use a microwave at our house, and we probably miss it about once a year. Don't use yours if you want to live!

yes it's faster but it is not as crispy or brown as some food likes to be.like for example , I like to put a golden color on top of baked turkey or glazed ham. still. the microwave is very useful.
