I'm not sure where to take her to have this done with sanitary equipment, etc.

Thanks for your suggestions.

All the answers above work well, as long as you are there and make sure that everything they use comes out of a sterilized pack. Also, most pediatricians do this in thier office. Call yours and find out if they do. If they dont, they should be able to recommend another pediatrician who does. Also when she does get her ears pierced, make sure you clean them for her, most kids will forget or not do it right and cause an infection.

I didn't want to get my daughter's ear pierced at the mall..I'm sure they are sterile and wow a free pair of cheap earrings!

My concern was a STEADY HAND!. I had my ears pierced by some young girl in the mall and my earring went in crooked and no where near the "marker" on my ear. (I just let the hole heal up and didn't bother with it anymore).

There are many doctors that will pierce their ears, ask yours! There are also clinics too. A skilled hand is more important than price and convenience!

I took my daughter to an "ear piercing clinic", it's all they do and everyone is either a doctor or nurse. They told me they opened the place because they used to work in the ER at the local hospital and would see many horrible ear piercing accidents from mall patrons.

My second choice would have been a tattoo parlor, if I could not find a doctor to do it! They are not only sanitary but also very skilled.

When I got my ears pierced it was at a hair salon in a mall. If you look carefully on the outside of most hair salons is a sign that says "We do ear piercing." If you want a sanitary one then I suggest taking her to your own hair salon or one that is not in a strip mall or anything.

After she gets them pierced, make sure she turns both the main part of the earring (with the jewel or w/e) AND the back which holds it in place. I made the mistake of only turning the front, and I got an infection.

I went to Claires. Its a teen jewelry store. Try to find an experienced person or someone that has done their own. I have very sensitive ears (I can only wear 14k gold) and I've had no problems. Make sure that no matter what the starter earrings are at least gold plated. Sensitive ears or not mine were only about 20 dollars and it's better to be safe.

the perfect element to declare here is that, at 4 years of age, this is your and your better half's determination fairly than your son's. although, i think of i circulate to be interior the minority here yet i'm siding along with your son's dad. probably ought to additionally say that the two me and my son have our ears pierced. My son asked for his ear to be pierced whilst he became into 11 or perhaps nevertheless he incredibly wanted it completed he became into incredibly demanding and demanding a lot in the past with regard to the discomfort (fairly unnecessarily). apparently, I asked him a while in the past how old he theory he ought to have been to have his ear pierced he responded that he wanted I had taken the determination for him whilst he became into approximately 3 or 4 so as that he would have had not one of the project. the two, my brother took my nephew to have his ear pierced whilst he became into 2 and hasn't encountered a single situation.we are conversing approximately pierced ears here no longer vast physique substitute. on the tip of the day, if he makes a decision he does not like them as he grows up, all he has to do is take them out. this is variety of sturdy that he desires to be like his dad. sturdy success with despite you confirm.

you can take her to claire's or icing in the mall or even piercing pagoda really you should have gotten her ears pierced whe she was a baby because now its gonna hurt like crap.

If its a second hole she has to wait until age 10.

Or you can do them yourself at home with a ear piercing kit from a beauty supply store preferably Sally's.

Have fun and congrats to your daughter

I agree with the tattoo parlor. Those piercing guns are not sterile and are scary to young ones. The tattoo shops use a sterile hollow needle that makes a clean piercing.

You can take her to Claire's, or Club Libby Lu. Or go to the mall, there are booths and stores like Claire's there that all do very good ear piercing.

Yes, you should get her ears pierced. I had mine pierced at 3 and my little sister at 6 months. You can go to Claire's or the mall, or even Wal-Mart. Hope this helps.
