But, in the Bible, he is the God of War? Again, people are are confused about their own religions. Why don't you guys try going to church, read the new and the OLD testament, wash yourself of your sins, and then come back here. Maybe then you can call yourself religious.

Perhaps he loves war? Certainly the Old Testament God is a highly developed Sadist... Perhaps he spent some time in rehab between OT and NT.
Certainly, the context between OT and NT is the same: the only difference appears to be the rather schizophrenic behavior of the allegedly omnipotent being... Perhaps God is bi-polar?

Perhaps you should go back and re-read the Bible. God proclaims Himself the God of Love therein. It helps if you read the events in the Old Testament in the proper context. There was no United Nations back then. The only avenue open to the people to survive was to fight and trust in God to help them win their battles. It wasn't pretty, but it was the reality of the day.

Emotions to not make one Bipolar -silly person. I do however apologize for "some" my Christian brothers and sisters who tend to portray God as some flower tossing 60s reject.
God is indeed a God of love .., but he is not one dimensional drifting on Prozac.
God is a God of vengeance, a Jealous God, a wrathful God and a very stern God. He also is filled with Justice and Mercy.
When he is wrathful and otherwise very upset with rebellious mankind - he is VERY wrathful - but when he shows mercy, love and justice, he does it like no human can.
Again - God is not a one dimensional shallow person like people (such as yourself) propose, comparing a God who is Spirit and not man - to mankind and mankind's low intelligent frame of thought.
We humans tend to think we are all that and a bag of chips when we don't even match up to an empty salt packet. Our brightest and best is as if brain-dead compared to God's knowledge and intelligence. Elswise we would be making worlds, and running the Universe. Think about it.

You are confused because you do not understand the definition of Love as put forth in the Bible.
Love wants the best for everyone and is pr oven by punishment for wickedness and rewards for godliness. These are results not random acts.
God created the garden...man corrupted it
God choose Israel to be His people They rejected Him
God sent His son so that all could come back YOU reject it
Seems to me man in his rebellion is the god of war.

If I were outside Christ I could see how you would hate God. He excepts us just as we are sin and all and then He washes us. Through His blood we are clean. Not because we are good not because we deserve it but because of His Love. He will do the same for you and for anyone else that will ask Him. Sounds like Love to me...

First of all, I don't call myself "religious". I am a Christian and know that my God is a God of love! He does not like war and He does not like it when we point fingers and talk to others with such anger and "holier than thou" attitudes. I am not confused but I'm wondering if you might be! He loved his people so much that he sent his only son to die an agonizing death on the cross with thousands of other Jews. How can you possibly doubt his being a loving god????
