Who you are depends more on who you choose to be rather than where you came from.

You just have to accept that you're you, regardless of who your biological parents are.

Sure, it may be nice to know about your lineage, but it's not necessary. After all, things like your nationality (as we used to call it) really don't play a part in the shaping of your character.

I have a t-shirt that reads Warning! Irish Temper/German Stubborness. Well, I don't believe that the Irish have the monopoly on tempers, and I know at least one Mexican who is even more stubborn than I am.

Those people who are raised without this knowledge may just have to try harder to come to terms with their nature. Sure, they face some uncertainty, particularly as to their future health, but I think this can also be viewed as a very freeing thing.

If you aren't born with preconceptions of how you're supposed to act, you can be free to act as your nature dictates!

knowing where we come from is helpful if we want to better understand who we are, but i disagree with the idea that we are our past. We are a people who live in the present, not past tense. So what the past should do is simply inform us so that we can do better in the future.

Someone once said: It is okay to look behind, but watch where you going!!!

be blessed.

Where you're from isn't important. It's where you going that counts.
