Do your own research and don't listen to gay army brats. Check with a store that sells the stuff as it may be possible. You would probably have to safety wire the cork in so it doesn't blow out from the carbonation building up. 750 ml bottle max I would guess due to the carbonation building up. I have made wine in beer bottles but never beer in wine bottles... that's a lot of beer at one shot. Move to the 16oz beer bottles or use a cornelius keg.
Good question... if you remember, let me know what you find out?

Not really a good idea.
Personally I use Grolsch beer-bottles for brewing.
They can be closed again (but I don't know the english name of these kind of caps.... so here's a picture:

If you recycle bottles for this, use a good quality champagne bottle. The kind with the "pip" indentation on the bottom will be strong enough for the secondary fermentation.

beer requires a very tight cap, otherwise the carbonation wont work.
its much easier to re-use beer bottles (non-screw cap only), and cap them yourself.
