It really does depend on where you're going and how many people are vacationing with you. I have a large family and my aunt, uncle and 3 cousins would always vacation with us. We'd rent a beach house for a week because to get enough hotel rooms to accommodate us all would be more expensive and not as convenient. If it's just a couple of you going, it may be worth it to talk to the local realtor for their average going rate of condos or small vacation houses.

Depends...if you are going with 3 or 4 and you can split the cost of the apartment...definately take the apartment and/or condo. But if only two of you - a hotel room or even a two or three room suite is (normally) less expensive.

Depends on the hotel, and where you are going for vacation! Sometimes a condo or apartment is cheaper, but look for all-suite hotels and sometimes those are cheaper. Especially try ones that are "independent" hotels, and not affiliated with a major brand. But be careful that you are getting a decent room/suite and that the hotel is not a dump.

Depends on the length of time and number of persons. In my case, the location also plays a serious consideration~ What am I doing? Will I be in that space for sleep only or what?

My choice with kids is a condo/long stay motel, I can prepare two meals a day and save more money that way. The tours will cost more and I look for public transportation or sites that have vans to airports or we can drive ourselves and bring the dog.

If its just me- Hotel. I don't want to do anything and must have room service and will love that $15 hamburger in the peace of my down comforter, play on my internet tv and call my family to say I love you!

Depends on the time your staying and your needs. In an apt you may need sheets and towels, etc.

How easy is it to pack this stuff?

How much room do you need? Will you stay in a cheap/small hotel, or pay for a big apt you'll never even be in except to sleep?

Where is the apt vs the hotel? Is one very inconvenient? There are time costs too.

I'd say usually an apt is less expensive, but don't overlook important factors.

Well, usually when you rent an apartment you have to put a security deposit, first and months last rent, etc. With hotels you don't have to do that so I'd say a hotel is cheaper.

the hotel room, it doesn't have as many amenities as an apartment so it's cheaper, plus it would be easier. There's alot of hassle and time that goes into getting an apartment usually.
