I want to know why in a relationship there are so many insecurities?

I don't understand what would make a man and a woman check their bf or gf's e-mail, phone messages and look through their things. Explain!

Years of dating have taught me that insecurities cause everyone misery especially the person having those feelings.

The best answer is to immediately push these thoughts from your head as soon as they appear....dont let them into your head and fester because they shouldnt even be there in the first place.

Everyone has insecurities in relationships, it's part of human self-doubt. If you're obsessively checking then you've got to address why you have such trust issues. It could stem from how you were treated by your parents when you were growing up.

There's even more cause for concern in the modern world, however, because of the freedom people "enjoy," with the individualisation of communication its very easy to keep your correspondence private. With the way that society is structured, people are tempted all the time by what they don't have. Whether its a better car or that new person at work...

Some people might think some thing is going on with the other person and some one else. Or they might be going it themselves (cheating) and checking to see if the other person is doing it. Maybe they have been cheated on before and are just checking to see if its going to happen again. Im not to sure on this one as I have never done this.

If someone isn't secure in their relationship with another person then they start to think the worst / and or snoop.....but snooping gets you in a place where you might find out about stuff you don't want to know.
