Well, if you really want the question to stop, you could turn the tables and put THEM on the spot by sweetly asking "Now why would anyone want to be seeing a sorry excuse for a human being like me?"

If you're not ready to stoop to their level, a vague "If there's anything serious in the Romance Department, I'll let you know" might work.

What's the big del? "Not right now" seems like a perfectly good answers. If you're at a family gathering you could say "Sure. I see lots of people. There's Uncle whoever, and aunt whoever right over there. Think I'll go say hi."

Personally I'd be honest and say no if that was the case. No need to go off on some tangent about why or anything as a simple "no" would answer the question being asked.

There's no way to stop them from asking but just smile and say, "Not yet." Don't act like it's a big deal or they'll question you more about it. If they still ask more questions just say, "I've got my eye on someone." And if they ask to just say it's a secret. That'll leave them crazy.

You cant stop people from asking you that, just answer them honestly. That is an age old question. There is nothing wrong with people asking you that. Just tell them NO.
