Yes, do something else that you really enjoy and replace that stimuli with another. Try not to be bored, always keep yourself busy, and don't hang out with other people that do drugs, get new friends who are against it. Try putting all your focus on learning a sport and joining a team.

I doubt that it is ever easy for anyone - that's why they say recovery is taken one day at a time. Go to therapy or meetings (or both), select friends who are non-users, get a new hobby, read, watch cheerful TV programs or movies, etc. Some doctors will prescribe meds to relax you - others will not, as they feel that you will just be substituting one addiction for another.

Yeah.

Join the discussion between 'Christians' and Atheists on Y!A. Or just read what each says.

You should be able to see what's real and what's not.

There is an element of comedy to the whole thing - it should take your mind off anything.

Keep yourself busy. Call and find out where you can go to an NA meeting, get to know some of the people in those rooms, and they will tell you how they have done it, not to mention get you busy hanging out with them, to make the temptations decrease.

Get a hobby. Find something you enjoy and are good at. If it's something that is really worth it you won't want to screw yourself up that way.

For me it's art and my dog. I know that she needs me to be there for her and I can't do that if I'm high.

Good luck and best wishes. I hope you can get cleen.
