Some time ago a saw only the final moments of an item on tv about an invention in development. It's a sun disk that fits on the back of a jeep. Sunlight is supposed to be lead from the disk to a chamber were water is broken down in hydrogen en oxygen in the "sun chamber". The problem is they couldn't find the right material for this chamber because it gets about 2300 degr C. in the process. Unfortunately I don't have the solution, but still I like to know more about it. I've been looking all over the web, but I just can’t find anything. Maybe someone over here knows where I can find more info on this?

linlyons, I don't want to make this a chat, but I am just as curious about how they want to do all of this as you are. I only saw 1 or 2 minutes of the item. But I know that as a kid I burnt paper and ants by focussing sunlight through a magnifying glass. Paper and ants don't burn in your car indeed, you happy! I remember their research financer had to get out of the project for some outside reasons, and the project had come to a halt. Not much more than 100 years ago most humans thought only birds could fly and that if god had wanted us to fly, it would have given us wings. But a few thought different. See were we go now.
