I order almost everything I use online (from either Amazon or Rainbow Resource) or borrow it from the library. If i'm really in a bind and need something quick, I'll run to the local teacher's supply store. Their prices are generally higher than I can get it online, even with shipping.

I was homeschooled all my life and plan to homeschool my own children. My mom purchased a program for me and my brother for grades 1-8...it is called Calvert School. It is actually a private school in Baltimore, MD that focuses on prepping for highschool and college. It's a bit expensive, but it helped me keep a 4.0 GPA all through highschool and college. I highly recommend it. For highschool, I used the Hewitt Homeschool Institution out of WA. Both of these programs are self-explanatory, correspondence programs.

You can buy school supplies anywhere. As far as workbooks go, you can order them from School Specialty Publishing. I believe the county there has an obsolete books warehouse that you can get text books for free.
