I see this with Black people. I even see kids like this - why? (I am not a racist !)

While you say that you are not a racist, your question sure sounds like that. The reason for the brown color is because of a pigment called Melanin (yes the same one present in black hair). This pigment is more common in people of color. However you see this dark colored gums in white people, if they smoke a lot.
