BIRTH CONTROL Use it. If you're with one person and one person only. Maybe consider the pill. If you 'get around' (And I don't mean that in an insulting way right now) then just stick to the condom and ALWAYS use it.

When she has been on the pill at least 2 weeks, without missing even one pill and taking it daily at the same time every day. You 2 should go down to the clinic and get tested before you ever have unprotected sex, and be exclusive thereafter. The pill works great for me. If she doesn't want to have to remember a pill every day, try the Depo Provera shot. Only one shot every 3 mos!! The down side is it can make you menstruate constantly.

There is no completely safe time to have sex without birth control. That's a fact. There are times that are less likely to result in conception. If you insist on using the "rythym method", the article linked below has an honest explanation of it.

Although I wouldn't reccommend doing it all with AIDS and Herpes floating around, the best time would be right after her period. Her cycle starts all over again and there is no egg to fertilize at that time. Although sperm can stay alive for up to 4 days, the egg will not be released for another 2 weeks or so.

It's always a bad idea and there's always a chance of getting pregnant (some people have gotten pregnant when they had sex during their period) but if you're dead set on it, do it either way before or way after ovulation (day 14 of your cycle, counting the day you start menstruating as day 1) so yes, during or right after your period is low-ER risk, or right before your period.

This is very risky..It would be best if she is on the pill. and other birth control form.. However the best time is, during the period ( which is really gross!!) and right away after the period..
Very careful, though

If you are not married, never. Don't share bodily fluids without knowing for sure what you are in for. Get on birth control and know your partners are safe.
