Not sure what the pay is (that is based on your rank, not your position) but here are the details for a Chaplain's Assistant for the Army:

The pay question has been answered. However as a former Chaplain Assistant, army 10 years, I do have a warning for you. It's not as easy as the recruiter makes it sound. You will not be sitting around making coffee at the chapel. Chaplains can and will got to war zones and depending on the chaplain you could be real close to the conflict. He/she is a spiritual leader and morale compass of a unit sometimes and other times a royal pain the butt. You just never know. School may be an option but the army's mission comes first and you and come way second to it and that includes school.

Not saying not do join or not be a chaplain assistant but be aware isn't as cushy as recruiters can make it sound.

Military Chaplain Salary

You are payed acording to your grade and time in grade. Like everybody else. The job of a Chaplains assistant is to assist him in serving the peoples spiritual needs whether on post or in a combat zone. You may be cleaning the chapel once a week or in the zone, setting up makeshift altars. In combat situations, it is the duty of the Chaplains assistant to defend the chaplain and fight if necessary, since most people, even soldiers, tend to rever the Chaplain it is considered bad business for them to take up arms.

It depends on your pay grade, not to be confused with rank.
Most likely you'd be an E-2 (Private) or E-3 (Specialist) and would make $1427 or $1501.

You would be assigned to a Chaplin and you would be responsible for security for him and the equipment. You could be sent to a combat area but most likely wouldn't be directly involved in combat, unless you were attacked and had to defend yourself and the Chaplin. Chaplin's are non-combatants and do not and can not carry side arms. The assistant however may.

Some Chaplin's are airborne qualified and if you train and qualify as well you can earn extra pay

Hope this helps and God bless!

Depends on what the pay/rank you are. Most enlisted start out near the bottom or E-1/private pay. I can tell you from experience that E-1 pay is not very much. But I have been out of the military now 14 years.

i would think it depends on what unit the chaplain was attatched to at the time. if he goes someplace you'd obviously have to go to. as far as what you'd make i would think you could find out on the latest military pay-scale chart. ultimately though, especially these days, the military will put you where they need you. they may tell you you're guaranteed something but dont believe it. thats how it was in the marines anyway...
