Walk away from the love of my life for good. Still suffering the after affects of that one but I know I did the right thing. He doesn't agree that it was the right thing but I feel that there is a time when you have to give it up.

I once gave up a relationship with my grandmother and aunt over a woman. It was blind lust and I was trying to be a savour according to many of my peers. I stayed with this woman who had a serious substance abuse problem for 5 years and finally left after she became very mouthy to one of my sons.
I was able to reconsile with my family after about 4 years but it certainly took some time for them to forgive me I am certain. These members of my family, thankfully, loved me unconditionally and we were able to rebuild our relationship. I was fortunate enough to be at my grandmothers death bed when the time came for her to pass. And continue to see my aunt as often as possible.
I realize now, and I think I did at the time also but refused to admit it, what a large mistake I was making. Life is so short and there is not enough time on earth to let go of the ones you truly love. We are only blessed with so many family members to treasure so do so and realize how they mould you into the person you are today. Friends and acquaintences will come and go throughout your days but family will always be there for you.

was to tell my friend that the people she thought were her friends where not they just laughed about her behind her back and I had to tell her in a kind manor that she should not tell people her whole life story. and she gave me a very hurt look and I have not been able to get that out of my mind.
