It varies greatly on the hotel and its location...
Nicer ones it seems do not need them there so no, but lesser neighborhoods have them there to prevent more violent crime...

Its pretty easy to spot= they want you to know you are watched as a deterant... so look around bofore you have your fun!!!

Some do, some are the obvious "convenience store/bank teller" type cameras and some are well hidden that you may think you're looking at a button on the wall or a picture and it's actually concealing a camera. I noticed the hotels that usually are in a high crime area where people rent the rooms for drug use/sales and prostitution have them but I've yet to notice one in a fine hotel. They probably have them to catch some of us lifting toilet paper, bath towels, soap and shampoo off the housekeeper's cart when she leaves it in the hallway as well.

You could tell if there was. They are usually mounted in corners. Sometimes the look like a bubble. Are you going to do the naughty in the stairwell? I am jealous.

Why, who did you do on the stairwell of a hotel? Why not the elevator? just throw your bra over the lens.

I hope so. And yet, one might think that using the stairwell might furnish the perfect opportunity to adjust one's underwear that has crept up one's ****crack- which I'm sure I might have done in the past. Oh, I'm so embarrassed...
