I'm 16 I lately started exercising(light) three days back esp to decrease my belly. Now once I tried that I got pain in my lower abdomen. I weigh 64 kgs and I'm abt 170 cms tall. Tell me if my pain is due to exercising and if it is normal. Thankyou.

I want to say it is normal because I get pain in the lower area of my stomach when I start working out after a long pause. However, I do not know what kind of pain we are talking about. Is it a sharp pain? Maybe you should talk to your doctor if the pain gets worse. In the meantime, I would not work out as much.

I'm 16 too, and I've felt something like that before too. If you're running, it might be normal, because I've had a similar experience from running after not exercising for a while, especially in phys ed. It could be that you're straining your muscles after a while from not exercising, so your abdominal muscles may be stretching and strengthening itself. This could be good news, if that's the case. You could also be pushing yourself too hard or too much for the first time, so you might want to slow down a bit; my health teacher always says, weight loss' rewards surface over time, so exercising slowly and adding on intensity over time would be your best plan. If the pain persists for a while, I would suggest that you either lighten the exercise or try a different sport, and see a doctor if necessary.

Yes. It is normal and it is due to the lack of habit of the muscles. Be careful when you cool down, and take a warm shower after the exercises.
