Yes my husband lived in Sicilly for over 13 yrs I lived in Motta S Antasia and have been every where on the island from Catania too Saracusia, to Trapini to Palermo.
I just want to say that the Italian people are very nice, polite and very courtious, but I do want to say one thing and that is now that Italy has adopted the Eurio and everything has gotten pretty expensive but still a very Beautiful country and the food is some of the best in thew world and if you really want to expierence some good food go to your mom and pops type resterants and stores thiewr you will get the best deals and the prices are very reasonable also.
I had lived thier long enough that I speak Italian very good almost as good as english and i am american.

Sicily isn't a usa, it relatively is an island belonging to Italy, as for the Africans, I do have self assurance that the classic empire of carthage (which began in Africa) controlled Sicily for a quick time, however the greeks occupied it longer than carthage (the greek ruins might nicely be seen by using out the island). wish I helped :)

I lived in Motta Santa Anastasia for 3 years. It's just up the volcano from Catania. Sicily is a very special place.

Yes. I did a 4-day road trip and visited Taromina, Mount Aetna, Siracusa, Noto, Agrigento, and Palermo. It's a very cool island, the varying terrain is incredible. Good trip. Thanks for reminding me!

Yes, I was in Sicily, staying in Palermo (wonderful city ) and during a week we visited all Sicily.It was great, a very nice trip.
