It's because you're used to eating for two and it's quite hard to go back to eating for one. After labor, you have a 6 month time frame to lose the pregnancy weight. If you've passed this opportunity, the chances of losing weight is slim. You'll have to work extra hard to get rid of the weight now. I would suggest cutting carbs, eat a lot of protein and veggies and exercise. To lose weight, you'll have to burn more calories than you consume each day. Maybe before or after dinner, you can take your baby out for a power walk to lose some calories.

breastfeeding is the easiest way to take the weight off after giving birth, but keeping it off...you probably got used to eating more while you were pregnant, and it can be hard to cut back again afterwards. Stay active - put the baby in the stroller and go for a walk, you don't have to go anyplace special, just get out and walk. If it's too hot where you are, go to a mall or someplace indoors to stay cool. Go to a pool, even tiny babies love to be in the water with mom. I used to go with friends, and we'd take turns watching each other's babies while we each got a chance to swim for exercise. And remember, it took you 9 months to put the weight on, it's going to take awhile for it to come off.

When moms are housebound it is always difficult to loose weight, having to prepare meals or just the general tedium of domestic work does not help.

Try and make some time for you. When you baby is napping pop on an upbeat CD dance or exercise to a workout video. Even skipping helps. Just be active. Cut out starchy carbs and fats. Don't eat kid's leftovers, tempting thought they maybe they just pile the lbs. to the hips.

Get your partner or family member to babsit and go out salsa dancing . Salsa is a great way to loose the lbs.
