I am a poor man but I work hard to provide for my family, lately my cab broke down and I can't afford to have it fixed, I have now no income. Loans that I could avail entails 120 percent interest! Sure a killer rate huh! Can you blame me if I beg my relative and friends to help me? If still I got no help from any, can you blame a poor man if he succumb to doing illegal to support his family? If there is sick in the family and medicines are to be bought for a sick kid, will you reject or ignore him if he comes to you if he is your relative? Will you judge him negatively? Truely how will you react to this man? and how should a Christian react?

Thank you for all your reactions my friends. Thank you, you made me see life more clearly. I realize I am not poor after all, I have a cab, a house, sending my children to college, have one graduated, I have six computers and more, but most af all a happy family with a very good wife and mother so our siblings.

Bit its just that life is not so well lately, I am experiencing cash difficulty and trade is not well going. My question is a true one and will not trick anybody, or ask for favor from any one, though I am now begging from my relatives to help me so I could go on my trade and find butter and bread again. With the difficulty I am now experiencing help me see life deeper and helped me to care for my fellow person in the future to help when I am able again, and I now see that I can not judge any body but to help them and pray that all mught get away from the bondage of poverty and difficulty one experiencing.
About the way a christian should comment or judge? A Christian must look first on all circumstances of tghe matter and he will see through faith that he can not judge but to help and pray lovingly to a man in missery. Can you see the way I see ans the way CHRIST want us to see?

I am living in a country east of asia, life here is not thesame as in the rich states of the west. The government is poor and could hardly give free medication to indigent patients, there are no wellfare home to feed those hungry, unemployement rate and under employement is very high. Students graduate and will not find jobs after.
There are places like this where even a very industrious person will live a difficult life. People's hope down here is to get out of our country and work outside, teachers are going to other countries to work as home helpers or domestic helpers, locac doctors pursue nursing courses to work as nurse in the U.S.
Hear this that I have heard, I have heard that my fellow country men are not shy of asking money help from people that they chat with! I can not blame many of them, that is how difficult life is down here.
So may GOD bless you more and think of people suffering and pray for them and try to help your neighbor in

Psalm 37 in the Bible covers your situation in all respects. It should be easy to apply and understand except for verse 21, regarding payment of a debt. Any loan at interest should be avoided by Christians. The 120 per cent is criminal. In fact the current rates in the U.S. were at one time criminal. (Anything over 19 per cent ).
I would suggest that a mechanic, who is a family man, would respond to your situation before any one else. To do something illegal is and always will be an excuse. All being said, even a judge should have compassion on a man who steals bread direct to feed his family; but not to enter into situations that involve other persons who will pay for your thefts or other crimes.

Instead of wasting time on the Internet, lamenting, or praying, try and find a temporary job for the time being. Being a Christian isn't going to help or worsen your situation, and you've already decided it's okay for you to do illegal things since you assume there will be forgiveness. Maybe have the kids stay with a friend until you can get back on your feet.

I have a feeling that the Spirit is telling me to avoid this question. It is a trick question, loaded by some unbeliever to get some unwary Christian to answer. I know it is the devil, because someone that poor would not have a computer, access to the net, probably no electricity and I didn't just fall off the turnip truck. I have heard stories like this all my life from hustlers, and tricksters. Sounds as if his relatives and friends are wise to him too.

That's too bad. I wouldn't help you because you are a man and you know the rules. All my life, when I needed help, I was given the cold shoulder too. I am better today because I was treated like dirt then.
So you have to ask yourself: "Am I dirt or Am I a good man?" If you are a good man, you'll find a way out of your mess a better person. If not, you ARE a bad man and would deserve to suffer until you changed your attitude.

Actually yes, I blame you entirely for your losses. It's called responsibility. As a child you were most likely irresponsible which led you to the path you are on now. Seeing that you are on the interenet, and have enough time to be on answers in the middle of the day means you don't know how to prioritize your life. If you are so concerned about money, you should spend your time better.
It it walks like a duck, sounds like a duck, and looks like a duck it is a duck.

The bible has a number of escape clauses for Christians. First "consider the birds of the field, they neither reap now sow" - the implication being we don't need to do anything for the poor man, because god will provide. Then there's Jesus and "the poor will be with us always" which implies it's futile to help them.
So please don't expect any help from Christians - they know all the ways out of this one!

GIVE a man a fish, you feed him for one day
TEACH a man to fish, you feed him for life.
There ARE jobs out there. There ARE programs. There is no hospital that will turn away a sick child. There are ways to provide without resorting to crime. Don't STEAL from those that work hard for their money. You may end up in jail and then you'll never be able to provide for your family.

120% interest? That's illegal. As for the rest, there is never any viable reason to turn to a life of crime. It will not benefit our family in the long run, as you WILL get caught and incarcerated. There are many MANY social agencies that can help you. Get the help you need LEGALLY.

I'm agnostic, so I'm not sure if I should answer this question or not since you ask only christians to answer...
However, I would help that man out. Helping that kind of guy is my goal in life.
And I won't blame you if you start doing illegal stuff to provide for your familly, I will simply ignore you.

>:( because my relatives forced me to live in the street, if one of them came to me for help, I'd have to give them a list of the agencies helping me, and say" this is all the help I can give you, and it's alot more than I got, now go and have a happy life". I consider myself a Christian, but I'm not a fool, and none of them will ever get anything from me again.
