I can never find the perfect moment to say this great word

As I understand it, "touche" is a word that is used in the sport of fencing or dueling usually when one person has the other in a compromising position, but then the compromised person ends up getting the initial aggressor in the same or different compromising position (position in which he could get hurt).

Today, the word is used as a retort to a response of criticism. This is best illustrated by example:

Say you are criticizing your girlfriend about her choice of mate because you think that he is too ugly. However, in response she says "but I love him, and anyway, you went out with John Brown, the ugliest guy in HS, so you should understand."

Then you would say "touche"

Then you would get off her back.

See? It's usually said by the initial aggressor
Hope it helps

In fencing 'touche' is when you score a hit on the opponent. Thus if someone does this verbally then you could use the word then. For example let's say that you had just won a race by setting off just before the others but the judge didn't notice. You were telling someone saying'

"I came first in the 100 yards race today." and they said, laughingly

"Wasn't it the 99 yard race in your case?"

You could say "Touche."

You use the word "touche" when you agree on someone else's point or argument when they really made or hit the right point.

it's a fencing term for when your opponent gets a hit on you. in conversation you say it when someone has a good point against you in a debate or something that you can't rebute.
