I have seen it spelled "Braun and Braughn,"
but I just want to know how to it is supposed to be pronounced.

It's Eva Braun and you pronounce it "A-va Brown" but the "r" is stronger than in English.

PS -- I speak some German and although my vocabulary is somewhat limited due to lack of practice, I know my pronunciation rules!

Her name is spellt Eva Braun.

I'd say the closest to the right pronounciation is a combination of your suggestions: "ava brown"

A-va Brown, but the "r" is more in the back of your throat than it is in English. It's like you're about to roll it, but you don't, if that makes any sense.
