LMAO!

"Oh help me Jesus, Help me Oprah, Help me Tom Cruise, use your voo doo on me." Taladega Nights, The ballad of Ricky Bobby.

I don't believe in it, but I gotta tell you, I live very close to the Scientology Center in Clearwater (The Big One) and every weekend we go off to the Antique stores in the area and it amazes me to watch them...

I am completely fascinated with them in their little khaki pants and their matching shirts some in white, some in blue... Why... Why I ask you! My husband just laughs at me, he thinks it is histerical... I just want to know... Why Kahki? Why tailored dress shirts in blue or white... Why the little sweaters tied around their shoulders like they are in a country club? What does it all mean?

It really is sick, the preoccupation I have with watching them as we drive through... It just amazes me...

Drive through quite fast and with the windows rolled half way up mind you... so as not to catch their brainwaves and be tempted to stop and actually talk to them... You can almost FEEL the brainwash waves over the entire community. It is like dawn of the dead, only they walk faster and aren't bleeding...

Here is a description of what it is which may help to answer your question. When you read it you will understand that there is no "belief" invoved in this religion.

Scientology is an applied religious philosophy. When I say "applied" I mean you actually use it in your life to change or improve existing conditions. This is different from a religious practice. All religions if you learn about them have a basic philosphy, but they also have certain dogma, rituals and observances, and a certain faith or belief is required. There is nothing wrong with this, but Scientology is not that kind of religion. It does not intrude on anyones faiths of beliefs particularly in the area of God , the Supreme Being, or the Infinite. This area is left totally up to the indivdual, which is why you can be a practicing Jew,for example and still use and apply the priniciples of Scientology in your life. It does not conflict. If anything it will enhance your understanding of your chosen religious practice.
You can have no specific religious beliefs and still benefit from using it.
And it is only true for you according to your own observation and experience with it.
It is a non denominational religion . The dictionary definition that applies:
Religion: The spiritual or emotional attitude of one who recognises the existence of superhuman power or powers.

The most basic principle of Scientology is that YOU are your own immortal soul, that this is not a "thing" you HAVE but what YOU actually are.
The whole purpose of Scientology is to increase an individual's understanding and awareness of himself. And thereby his native abilities .
When you do this the sphere and zone of his positive influence increases and moves outward into his life, his family ,his friends, his groups and mankind which he is part of.

How this result is achieved is the "technology" of Scientology, which was developed by L.Ron Hubbard after his extensive research and the discoveries he made, about the human spirit. The basic religious philosophy and knowledge of Scientology is very old, going back 10,000 years at least to the Veda or Vedic Hymns from the East. The developement of the technology is new.
He completed his research before his death in 1986 and left all of his results and copyrights
to the Church of Scientology along with most of his considerable estate., when he died.

He published a book in 1951 to communicate the basic principles he discovered called: " Scientology The Fundementals of Thought"
There are currently over 8 million Scientologists in more that 150 countries world wide. However we are a new religion, only 53 years old.
The true story of Scientology as a religion goes like this:
1. A philosopher developes a philosophy about life and death.
2. People find it interesting.
3. People find it works.
4. People pass it along to others.
5. It grows.

Tom Cruise has been a Scientologist for over 20 years. He was
introduced to it by his first wife Mimi Rogers.
Last time I checked we were still calling it Scientology and Tom Cruise was just a member......
Do you know something I don't ? Have we renamed it after Tom?

I believe Tom Cruice is a movie actor. He is a human, prone to human foibles, like religion, drugs, cable TV.
I believe Scientology is a dangerous bunch of richy-rich people who want some fad to believe/dabble in, and being a vegan is too difficult.
It is amazing he has lasted THIS long. I think formerly handsome Tom is drowning in his own famousness, trying to keep afloat. A silly religion, a child whose name sounds like a horse-drawn cart, and marrying a deer-in-the-headlights knucklehead won't do it. Maybe getting busted for dope would help. He IS a dope.
Maybe a car wreck. He is an accident looking for a place to happen.
He is looking for love in all the wrong places. Poor, Tom!

Scientology is a destructive cult started by a conman in the 1950's...

Here are some comedy websites concerning Tom Cruise, and the proper name is ScienTOMogy:
http://www.scientomogy.info/
http://www.tomcruiseisnuts.com/
http://65.58.242.81/scientomogy.com.php

So No I don't believe in it, and to say it doesn't require belief Theta is ridiculous... There are many many beliefs, like past lives, immortal soul, Xenu, state of Clear, state of OT, a belief the tech works despite no evidence, to name but a few....

This is why wiki has a section called "BELIEFS and practices":
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology#Beliefs_and_practices

And just to point out another error (amongst many) with that post, there are not 8 million members, that is an outright lie and you know it.

No, I don't believe in some of the views of Scientology. I believe that the Lord put people on the earth to help others. Angels walk with us each and every day and they're here to help and do God's work. We are also suppose to help and do God's work. Do you remember that couple about 5 years ago that let their child starve, because they were waiting for God to inter vine? The Lord sent us healers.

Its creepy. I read about their brainwashing techniques. They stare at you and yell insults at you and if you so much as blink, you have to start over until you can tolerate it for hours with no reaction (not even blinking). And that's just the beginning.
