My roommate is looking for some ideas for a cheap but romantic one year anniversary present for her boyfriend. She doesn't have alot of money to spend, and she wants an original idea. He is 23, and she is 20 so they can't go anywhere with age restrictions. He likes tattoos and things like that, but tattoos, etc. are too expensive. Any ideas?

Why doesn't she try tor recreate the night they met. Maybe come up with little clues that will lead up to the evening. A friend of mine and her husband met at an art exhibit. The week prior to their anniversary she started leaving little notes, items and pics of his favorite painter in his briefcase. (art brush, monet reprints etc..) The night of their anniversary she arranged for a dinner to be served at a local art exhibit.I know you said cheap but just wanted to give you an idea.

How about a nice home made card. Inside she can explain what a difference he has made to her life since they have been together and her hopes and dreams for their future. Gifts can be very expensive and not mean anything to the receiver but sometimes something expressed from the heart can seem like a million dollars. And tattoos are expensive like you said the person might regret what they later.

What about something like a scrapbook and a disposable camera? That way they can take pictures together and then put them in together?
