You must be careful at this stage. Palpating incorrectly can cause the puppies, which are the size of a walnut at best, to dislodge from the uterine wall an cause a misscarriage. Do not attempt to do this. Even many vets have a problem palpating the puppies through the abdomen. The dog will, by reflex, tighten the abdominal muscles to protect the abdomen.
Get an ultrasound, blood test, or wait until after day 45 and get an x-ray. They are all more accurate.

First off, the word is FEEL. Aside from that, you probably won't FEEL anything for another 2 weeks, even if she's "like" a month pregnant. If you're in a "need to know" situation, then take the dog to the Vet, and have it ultrasounded or X-rayed.

She is not far enough along for you to feel them, wait 2 weeks or so. When you are able to feel them will also depend on the breed of dog, roly poly or hairy type breeds make it harder to feel the pups.
If you are talking about palpating, that should only be done by someone experienced, or else you could hurt the pups.

At this point you wont be able to feel the puppies, they are still way to small. When she gets bigger and her tummy starts to drop you should be able to feel the pups then. Just don't push to hard or you can hurt both the mother and the pups. Good luck.
