Neither.
Being disrespectful is either bad intentions, meannes or lack of education and manners. I think it has got nothing to do with intelligence.
There are numerous intelligent men who beat up their wives, though nobody would ever believe --- a sign of disrespect on the side of the other gender, WITH intelligence combined!
And again, there are many many not-so-intelligent people who live in peace and harmony because they learned how to be respectful to others! They may be called "stupid" by others, but at least they are not mean.

neither its a sign of insecurity and fear. when u know that the other person is right u have 2 choices. either u surrender or stand up against.
u fear that someone may walk over u or stomp ur individuality.
if u do not prefer the surrender part, yet still cannot digest the thruth, u bring out the worst in u.
its happens all the time not just when it comes to religion.
man has fought and disgusted each other for land, power, women, greed, revenge, jelousy.
so hope u got ur answer.

It depends. How is it done? Was it clever? Did it make people laugh? Did it piss everyone off? Was that its purpose? Sorry, you're being too vague for me to answer any other way.
I will tell you one thing I've noticed. The more intelligent a person is, the more annoyed they tend to be, since they can see more of the world than the stupid. Hence the saying, 'grinning like an idiot'.

I wouldn't call it stupidity, but I would say that people are disrespectful to people and things they do not understand. A more educated person would have a little more tact in dealing with people or a certain situation.

Disrespect is a sign that it was not taught to a person when they were younger or they don't care about what was taught them. Disrespect says that others are deemed as less important as self.

I think it more a matter of having manners than a matter of intelligence. Some people just don't have the proper upbringing or enough self-respect to treat those around them with civility and respect.

If the target in question is deserving of the disrespect, then it's 100% appropriate.
Respect is earned, not given. And no one has a right to it.

just plain stupidity....
one day, those you are disrespectful to, will be in a position you will envy, while your asking for a job or money or a place to stay or something you want.
they will look at you and laugh their heads off and think
ya right, punk, aint NO way its ever gonna happen.
