One story said that he died in 5 minutes.
The other story said he died in 5 DAYS of extreme torture.
I'm pretty sure this is an urban myth, but how long would it take you to die if you did that, or would your body just vomit it up immediately?

Yes, definite myth. You would certainly vomit it up fairly soon after. Your body does that to prevent alcohol poisoning. But you might not vomit right away. After the alcohol is being absorbed as such an extremely high rate, your brain should be getting signals to empty the contents of your stomach. There is no way he died in 5 minutes. It cannot be absorbed that fast. It would just sit there harmlessly until it got into his blood. But certainly not 5 DAYS, he would be sober by then if he was still alive. But let's assume this particular person did not vomit for whatever reason. His body did not empty the contents of his stomach like it was supposed to. He would die of alcohol poisoning most likely. But how long?? It might take about an hour for the alcohol to get absorbed and put his BAC above 0.45 or so, causing respiratory arrest. Or with all of that alcohol all at once, maybe it would cause liver or kidney failure, but probably not within an hour. He would die of alcohol poisoning first. But assuming he is a large person and maybe it was 0.75L and it just wasn't quite enough to raise his BAC enough to kill him, maybe his liver would fail within 5 to 10 hours as it tries to process all the alcohol but cannot. But if someone did that (don't try it), I am almost certain they would be fine. They would vomit as is the normal bodily response.

It would be real nasty! There would be a lot of throwing up.
Not only that, but he would probably get alcohol poisoning. If that happens, the person becomes dehydrated and need immediate medical care. I do know personally of people who have died from alcohol poisoning and it was within 48 hours.

A liter is aboout 32 OZ. That is th equivilant of drinking 32 beers instatly.

That woudput your blood alcohol somewhere around .9 which is pretty much guaranteed to kill you.

Hopefully your body WOULD vomit it up. If you did not, yes; that would kill the average sized human, through alcohol poisoning. You would not just have a hangover. *chuckles* You'd be dead.
