Then when you are above the clouds on an airplane, you still can't see Heaven!

It's just a way of imagining or expressing--like poetry. It's not from the Bible. In fact the Bible teaches that God will create a "new heaven and a new earth" where we will live with Him. It will very likely be like the best and most beautiful places on earth now--only better--perfect and unspoiled.

because that's the easiest concept man can understand. It's like a simile or a metaphor of/for Heaven. It's not literally like that, but who knows? maybe it is out there... somewhere... in the farthest region of the universe. =)
