Boeing. Period.
Airbus is falling behind on their aircraft orders, especially with the A350, therefore losing customers.
The Dreamliner is going to be a blessing to the airline industry, and at least Boeing can stay within budget and deliver on time...

B787 and 777-200 LR, being a pilot for Singapore Airlines we're going to get all the gear. Currently flying an airbus, after 5 years flying a bowing, the only thing I have to say about the airbus is that the table in the cockpit is great. It's probably more appropriate to compare the 747-800 with the A380, but even then i still won't pick an airbus. Preference would be for an american car over a french one.

Loaded question. You cannot compare the A380 (an airplane designed to carry 550 passengers) with the B787 (300 pax).
The airbus competitor to the 787 is the A350XWB (and even then the A350 will be a bit larger still). To decide which is best, we should perhaps wait until they FLY?
As to "yote": that is not an appropriate demonstration. That airplane was flown by a "hotshot" idiot of a pilot who wanted to impress onlookers at an airshow by showing that the fly-by-wire system would not allow the plane to stall. The fly-by-wire system is not meant to prevent the airplane from flying into trees. There are not total idiot proof airplane in the world.
(I am not working for either Airbus nor Boeing. The company that employs me is making its own airplane, and is also a component maker for both Airbus and Boeing, so my position here is neutral. Both companies make excellent planes, and only narrow minded chauvinistic ignorants would claim otherwise)

While I like the Boeing product line-up better than Airbus. Airbus has been kicking Boeing's butt lately and here are a few reasons why:
1. Airbus offers incredible financing offers, up to and including airplanes for no money down as long as the airline pays their monthly payment. Boeing can't even begin to offer this because Airbus is subsidized by several governments.
2. The governments that subsidize Airbus are paid interest for their subsdization. Furthermore, if an airline defaults, the vested governments are given proportional equity in the airplane(s). As such, they don't lose their money.
3. Because Airbus offers this level of financing, customers are ordering more airplanes from them. Their financing program is making them an extremely wealthy and powerful company.
Boeing had better do something extreme at this point if it doesn't want to be completely over-run by Airbus.

Airbus makes 14 different planes, includnig their different variations. Boeing has made hundreds of commercial planes, including their different variations. Boeing makes the engines for the space shuttle. Boeing makes F/A 18s and F-15s. Boeing makes millitary helicopters. Boeing has a big part in making the international space station. Boeing has made hundreds of other military airplanes. Boeing's 737 alone has sold more the ALL of Airbus's planes. Boeing has a better safety record than Airbus. Boeing has made super fuel efficient aircraft over the many years. Boeing has made the 777-200LR which can fly nonstop from LA to Johannesburg, South Africa!
I prefer Boeing, thank you.

BOEING, hands down. The B-17, B-24, B-25, B-52, B-29. Still flying. Still great.
The B314, now THERE was an airplane. Wow. Haven't seen ANY other company come close to Boeing. Boeing aircraft fly. Boeing meets the demands of their customers, Boeing is tried and true.
Airbus is a Euro company, TRYING to outdo Boeing. It isn't happening. The 380 is a debacle. It will make a great cargo craft, but it is ludicrous to think it will "fly" as a passenger carrier.(sorry for the pun)

Definitely Boeing. The 787 is outselling the A350 and the 777 is outselling the A340. Boeing is doing something right and it shows by the number of orders.

Boeing. AirBus reminds me of Greyhound.
Check out this video of AirBus quality product. Make sure your sound is on, the voice over makes it even more ludicrous.
