Have you already purchased and reserved the flight? If so, than you just go to the airport, look for the airline you are flying, go to the airline, give them the destination, and flight number (which should have been given when you booked the flight), and you get your ticket!
If you want to make reservations, go on the airline which flies to your destination, which I would recommend flying Southwest if flying domestically, and you should know what to do when you get online. You will also need a credit or debit card number so they can charge you online.
Oh yeah, and this is for any airline, the earlier you book it, the cheaper the flight will be. If you book a flight from LA to Hawaii the day before, it will be abour 500 dollars. If you book that same flight two or three months before, it can be as low as 150 dollars.
Other airlines that fly that route are American Airlines, United Airlines, JetBlue Airways, and Delta Airlines, but since those are much bigger airlines, they may not have nonstop flights, so I'd recommend flying Southwest since they fly nonstop to most major cities such as pittsburg and atlanta.
If you are older than 12 years old, you are considered an adult and will fly the same as everyone else, but southwest has a special system for children flying under 11. You're parent/legal guardian will sign you in, walk you all the way to the gate, and have another parent/legal guardian meet you at the gate and sign you out.

Need a Credit/Debit Card.
American Airlines about $637 USD this a ballpark figure as I not know when you want to go. Here your link; http://www.aa.com/ Your airport codes are PIT and ATL. You may want to enter different dates the further away the cheaper it may be. I have found most times it as cheap going through the Airline Website than the Shop around sites. I looked at Southwestern and Delta and I not see they have a hub at one or the other city you can check them too and be sure.

go on line and search for an American (domestic) airline.

once your on line you will have options and choices. you will then be presented with several different flight options. you cant pick your exact time but one of the options that appear should suit you.

you dont always get a ticket either....... some times they are E tickets. this means your ticket is on their computer system and you just need to turn up to the airport with your passport and a print out of your email confirmation

i think this is easiest but you can also go into a travel agent.

If you know the airline you want to fly, you can go to their website and buy it from there or go to travel website like travelocity, orbitz, cheapfares and buy online there. You enter the outgoing and incoming airports, dates and how many are traveling. They give you time options which is how you pick your flight.

You can go to a travel agency or go to online sites such as cheaptickets.com, or orbitz.com, the sooner you get it the better, with gas prices going up on a daily basis, lock your price in by buying sooner.
