A good mother to me is someone who has patience, is understanding, there to listen and also to teach, loves unconditionally, fair yet firm with discipline amongst many other things. We should try to not put our children in harms way, spend as much time with them as we can and yet allow the child to develop and find their own individual self, and always be honest with them.

There is no definition of a good mother. Your child will tell you.
It's not true that spoiling your child and giving them whatever they want makes your child like you better (than their other parent).
So if your child says it, then it really is true. As they grow older, their needs change. It's possible to be a good mother to a young child and really suck as a mom to an older one. Again, your child will tell you.
If you think you are one, then you probably aren't.
All of the moms I met who claim to be good mothers are actually selfish and negligent.

I don't think there is a definition. If your children are happy and healthy and you meet all of their needs to the best of your ability then you are a good mother.

A woman, who does her best to raise her child to the best of her ability. My Mom can't read, write, show close affection or critical think- and yes, I do have the scars to prove it. But she is STILL a good mother because she did the best she could with the limited skills she had.
Now I take care of her since she's 81 years old

in my opinion someone who is a good mother provides unconditional love and support for her child(ren), she provides them will all they need to get through life. A good mother understands disapline and isnt afraid to use it because she knows it makes her child(ren) a better person/ people. She will not physically disapline her child but she wil disapline them in a nother way. She wont give her child whatever he/she wants and understands that ebing a mother is all about preparing her children fr the real world.

the definiton of a good mother to me is some one who is caring and knows when to get mad at her children when they do something wrong..spend time with them and care for them ..also teach them from right and wrong.. oh and let them have extra cookies :)
