The whole alpha male thing will be resolved if YOU are the pack leader in your house, not your dog. Most dogs appreciate the companionship of another dog.
Just before you bring your new puppy home, take your yorkie for a walk till he's really tired out and in a calm frame of mind. Try to walk the puppy a bit before bringing him into the house, too. I don't know your yorkie, but if you're worried about them meeting in the house, introduce them outside. For the first little while, although it's hard, try giving more affection to your present dog than the new puppy. Give treats first to your older dog, pet him first, etc. I'm sure they'll be buddies in no time at all.

Bring the dog you have now, with you when you go to pick up the pup. If possible even make a visit with him before you bring him home, so that the first dog understands that he's not being replaced. Let them socialize at the breeder's a time or two, and then bring the new pup home on a Fiday, so that you can have all weekend with the two of them. Make sure that you don't share anything except the water bowl with the new pup, that has belonged to the first one. Pay equal amounts of attention to both, and don't change your routine with the first one in favor of doing things with the new one, or you may have jealousy issues that result in aggression. You'll probably want to crate the new pup for the first few weeks and at night, until it's house broken.

Dogs like anything else take a little time. Let your self spend some time with them both. They get jealous like humans. Then they will become good friends. Feed them together but different bowls ,get some different toys. Sooner or later they will be sharing. Good luck Pem

getting another dog to keep your dog company? you're just compounding your problems, better to spend the money on trainning your dog, i had a jack russel for 11/2 years, and it's very obedient
