I don't know how the hell you cook a STAKE. I do how ever know how to cook a steak. A porter house likes salt pepper garlic salt on both sides and some Worcestershire sauce. Put it in the oven or grill it on a grill. In the oven broil it and turn after 4 minutes on each side and check it by cutting into the center. When it is done enough for your taste then eat that sucker. I like baked fries or a tater with mine along with sour cream butter and cheese and some asparagus and a nice salad with ranch fat free dressing.
P.S. What time is supper?

get your grill screaming hot.
Season both sides of your porterhouse with with a generous amount of kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper but do this just before grilling.
Put your steak on the grill and close the lid for 2-4 minutes........depending on how rare or well done you like it.
Next flip the steak and close the lid for 2-4 more minutes. Take steak off the grill and cover with foil for atleast 5 minutes.

I love to crush fresh garlic, a bit of olive oil and some more salt and use this as a sauce.

Enjoy

Simplest way: Put it in a shallow baking pan, under the broiler. About 6 minutes on each side. I like garlic powder, black pepper, and celery salt, but that is up to you.

Marinate steak in Vinergrette Dressing. The Vinegar will make it tender and the spices from the dressing is all you need. I put butter in the pan. Try it ENJOY

in pan with 2 teaspoons of oil. salt and pepper to taste. Let brown on both sides. Add chopped onions, mushrooms, add 1/2 cup of water and continue to cook, turning several times. water steam cooks and makes it more tender and wont let your pan burn. it also lets you cook it longer if you want it medium or medium well. browning it first gives it delicious taste.

Spice it up. I'd use cajun and blackening seasoning. Then throw it on the grill. Yum! Sounds good to me!
