My best friend keeps loesing weight. She exercises 24/7 and wont eat anything except "diet food". She has gone from a size 7 to a size 4 in a cvery short time. I am worried about her because she is very thin and shouldnt be starving herself! Also, she WONT talk about it! She tells me She is "just getting into shape", although she already is one of our school's best athletes.

If she is on a team, ask her coach if they have noticed anything different about her. If she is mal-nourished, her performance will have suffered. Tell the school guidance counselor. The Counselor can't reveal who spoke with her, and the counselor can make an appointment with your friend to sort through things (the counselor will probably say it is for career planning or something to get her to come in). If the counselor thinks your hunch is right, she will contact your friends parents. You never know why she eats the way she does. Maybe her family teases her about weight, maybe her coach said something once, maybe another friend, or boyfriend made her feel fat. Who knows.

I wouldn't wait too long before mentioning this to someone, your parents, her parents, a teacher, have an intervention with a bunch of friends. Do something. If she really is sick and you don't say anything, you will end up feeling really badly for not helping her sooner.

Sounds like she's in denial about it. Try and have a good talk with her and let her know you're worried about her. If that doesn't work talk to her parents or some other family member of hers. Good luck.

If your friend is starving herself, then what you need to do is sit her down sometime and talk to her about this if she is not willing to talk to you.Of course, her parents need to also be told of this situation so that they can have a say as to treatment options.

How long has this been going on? If it's just something that goes on for a month or two it's probably just a temporary phase. If it goes on for longer she is probably developing an eating disorder. You can find more information here http://www.geocities.com/helpprob

She is just skirting around the real issue. Talk to some counselors to see what they say may an intervention is necessary.

If you've already tried talking to her, and she won't talk, go tell an adult. Even if she gets pissed at you, I'd consider that better than her potentially hurting herself seriously.
