Luke 2:41 to 51 is the only account telling about Jesus as a child doing something that upset Mary and Joseph.

Probably he was. His parents and brothers weren't terribly impressed with his supposed divinity, as noted in the bible, nor was anyone who knew him until he declared himself a demigod. The reaction of his friends and acquaintances indicates that this was news to them.

P.S. From the Christian viewpoint, which tries to have it both ways, he "sinned" when he didn't honor his parents and broke the law regarding the Sabbath.

If he never sinned, then he was never human and couldn't have felt any pain or suffered any discomfort.

He would have only needed to be spanked to steer him in the right direction, but since he never sinned, he never gave his parents the need to spank him. He was kind, good, loving, generous, thankful, hard-working, honest, compassionate, considerate, all the best things that you hope to see in your children.

If the Jesus myth is all true as the NT has it, then his parents would not have spanked him, because he was god in flesh & how can you spank god in flesh?
