There is always the question, what was the first thing ever? What started everything? What is the origin of existence? Scientists seek it, and the ones I know concede that God must be at the very beginning. Beyond that, we don't really know much about God. Its who we give credit to being the original creator, because something had to start it, and we need a name for that something. There's a pretty good argument made for this, and for there being an intelligent design in a book called "The Mind of God" by physicist Paul Davies, PhD
Three scientists were discussing their latest experiment and one said, "That's it, we've done it! We don't need God anymore." As always, God was listening, only now He was intrigued and spoke up, "What do you mean you don't need me anymore" startled, one of the scientists said, "wwwelll, we have unraveled the secrets of life, and we can reproduce human beings right here in our lab without using people". God said "Show me then", so the scientist bent down and grabbed some dirt from a bucket, and said, "we can take this dirt, break it apart into atoms, reassemble the atoms into DNA proteins and build cells, and then eventually functioning zygotes, which we further nurture with our artificial wombs...."and would have gone on but God had had enough as He said, "you have to get your own dirt first".

As humans began the journey from the animal to prehumans they having to constantly fight for survival, and in doing so developed a higher mind/brain.
Had first humans lived in an area in which food was plentiful and predators few they would never have advanced to the degree they are today. Just as fricans and indians never developred to an advanced civilization due to the fact food was plentiful and humans predators were few .
As they developed their enlarge brain gave the the power to over come their environments harsh conditions and leave them times to think more and to develope a culture. This eventually had to lead them to ask why they were here and where they come from.
In their mind set as all creatures had a creator(a son had a father, a bear had a father, ect it began to slip onin on them that that they were also owned or created by something or someone.
Originally most gods were women in many cultures as women are the final creaters in the birth of a child. But the dorminate male of the species saw that women were lowered to the status as the carrier reather than creater. This lead to the developement of gods who created everything, Gods of wated, fire, gods of the sky, heat, lightening ect. Eventually a tribal in what is now Israle decioded that they could more find life mor epleasant and make it easier to bind their peoples into a nation with the creation or combination of gods into one god, and this how god came about.

Allah said in Quran:
57:3 He is the First and the Last, the Evident and the Immanent: and He has full knowledge of all things.
57:3 He is the First and the Last, the Evident and the Immanent: and He has full knowledge of all things.
2:255 God! There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory).
2:115 To God belong the east and the West: Whithersoever ye turn, there is the presence of God. For God is all-Pervading, all-Knowing.
4:126 But to God belong all things in the heavens and on earth: And He it is that Encompasseth all things.

That's like asking what came first the Chicken or the egg? Everyone has their own theory, but the truth of the matter is that just like the chicken and the egg, God has no beginning or end, God just is. I don't believe there's even an actual place where he's hanging out, like they say he's in Heaven, when in truth God is in all of us. God came from us, and before that he came from plants and animals and stars and space and anything that's tangible and not tangible. Hope this answers your question.

The question you really need to ask is
Where did the dimensions time and space come from?
Before time and space nothing had to have an origin, it just was. So if God created time and space (In my opinion that is the definition of God what ever created time and space) he doesn't have to have an origin he exists beyond or concept of "From" or "beginning".
It's like charters in a book wondering where the author came from. The author is the creator of their reality so he just is.

Interesting answers so far.
True, God didn't come from anything.
God is everything.
He Is alpha and omega, beginning and end.
We were all there with God.
When we're born, we forget.
We spend our life trying to re member, to define who we are, where we're from, and our divine purpose.
Truth is, we all already know, we just need to re member.
This is the journey of the beginning of life.
God is best described as all the energy that makes everything.
Energy doesn't come from anywhere, it just is, and it just simply changes.
There is one of the secrets of life.
We all are connected and God is in each breath we take.
Your mind is wondering as you try to re member.
I think your question is more about where did I come from? You search for identity. If you can figure out who God is, then you can know who you are.
You are a part of a huge dynamic ever changing puzzle.
God is your link.

You can't give the answer of this question because existance of God is yet not proved. There are three asumptions-
1- there is a God and he governs the universe.
2- There is no God.
3- There was a God, but he extincted after his job was completed.
Unless you do reach on any one of the above three, we cannot get the answer of this question.

The imagination of religious believers. It should be blindingly obvious to any rational person that the idea of an intelligent entity simply existing without any kind of origin or precursor is a nonsense. Intelligence is demonstrably a product of the universe, not the other way round.

It's possible that God is the end product of evolution that took place nearly an infinity ago which produced a supreme being that caused the universe to calapse and then explode in the "Big Bang" and who directed the course of creation as we now know it.

God has always existed. He had no beginning and will have no end. God created time and space. We exist in time and space, and can only think in terms of something having a beginning, but God is not bound by time and space the way we are, and He is not limited by our thoughts about Him. He has always been and always will be.
