The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), in its recent report on calcium requirements of children, acknowledges that preoccupation with being thin, especially among teenage girls, and the misperception that all dairy foods are fattening, is contributing to low calcium intakes in this age group (18). According to the AAP, " … many children and adolescents are unaware that low-fat milk contains at least as much calcium as whole milk"

Skim milk has as much calcium as 2%. If in doubt, when at the store, compare labels on the back. You should be able to look under the "calcium" area and see the calcium content and/or the percentage of calcium requirements met for a serving of milk. For example, 8 oz. of 1% milk provides 25% of the daily calcium requirement set by the FDA.

They all have the same amount of calcium. The only difference in skim, 2% and whole milk is how much fat they have.

Skim milk provide a more rapid absorbtion of Vitamin D in milk than the 2%. The 2% stand for the amount of fat in the milk not the vitamin content.

Skim milk simply means that the layer of cream is SKIMMED of after processing. This process does not impact calcium levels but only the fat levels due to removing the cream.Calcium content is the same in both. And if you see a milk that labels cacium content in grams rather than milligrams please let me know.Grams of calcium?Yeah read that answer.

dude everything pasturized has things taken out cuz they have to kill bacteria or u will be sick. but 100 percent straight from the cow is of course the most "nutrient healthy" but it will make u sick.
skim milk is bad for u. cuz they took out all the good stuff. u shud switch to 2% but it might feel bad cuz u have to get used to it. I LOVE 2%
