they need to open their minds and allow themselves to see others points of views, not just brush it off and say "how could they possibly believe that crap". they need to understand not only their own beliefs, but others as well. and then they need to keep that open mind and teach their children in that same way. hate breeds hate. we need to teach love, acceptance and tolerance.

Your words and actions can be a testament to your faith no matter what it is. As to promoting harmony, focus on the good parts of each religion that we have in common, not the differences.

By trying to tell people the good news of whatever religon your promoting yeah it can be a little nerve racking and hard but know one expect you to convert thousands of people just as long as you try is satifiying oh here a tip be respectful toward there religon and try to compare the similarities for between your religon and thers
