You have to tell him the truth. For one, in many states the age of consent is 16, so if your relationship involves any intimate contact then he can be guilty of various felonies. And all states can prosecute him for endangering the welfare of a minor which is a long jail sentence and a lifetime stigma attached to it.
You have to be mature and realize that a 15 year old has no business being with a 20 year old.

I thought you already were having sex with him. Now reading the other replies it looks like I was wrong. Just read my answer below and think about how you would feel if it did lead to sex or even to close to having sex.
The other answers were fine. Just tell him the truth. Blame your parents or something, but get out of the relationship. You probably are attractive and mature at age 15, so you have plenty of boys close to your age who would love to date you. You will not have to be worry about telling them your age and any relationship that developes will be an honest one that could eventually lead to something special. It has happened, but not with the 15-20 year old deal, unless your boyfriend is a Woody Allen.

Instead of telling him your real age, you decided to F this guy you didn't even know. Wow!
Please copy this down. "Jim [insert real name in place of Jim], I have to tell you something important, I am really 15, not 17, as I told you when we met. I am very sorry about this and we have to break up now. I hope you will understand."
If he says, "Oh, that's ok, lets just go on having fun." you repeat above so he gets it through his thick head. For all you know, he knew all along.
Do not hedge your answer by saying anything about getting back together when you are older as he will think you are still game to continue. You can dream about it, but don't do it. You learned early about this and are lucky. Have a friend around and tell him in public so he doesn't go nuts and hurt you.
This morning a US Capitol Policeman is in jail for having sex with a 15 year old prostitute. He probably is going to say he did not know her age. Well, he sure as H knew she wasn't his age (about 35-40 from his mug shot.
You are not a prostitute, of course, but see how much trouble this can bring? The cop is going to lose his job and his family and be put in jail for a long time after the newspapers and TV have a field day with this crime.

tell him exactly what you just told us. if you were scared he might or might not understand but you have 2 tell him the truth before he finds out elsewhere and he may not trust you again if this happens. you really shouldn't be with a 20 year old if you're 15.

He will find out sooner or later. Tell him know so he can dump you and find a girl where there's no chance of jail time and a permanent account on a sex offenders site.

You better tell him right out, and tell him soon. If this relationship turns sexual he'll be breaking the law (say it with me: "statutory rape"). He deserves to know what's going on before the law comes breaking down his door.
