Since I've been doing this Y!Answers thing, I've given almost 100 answers for each question I've managed to come up with. I admire those who ask more questions, and stand in awe of those like my friend jim_darwin who regularly hit their daily limit of questions.
Everybody's got the answers (or at least opinions), but not everybody has the wisdom to ask the questions!
Smart kid.

I think it's because when you ask a question, you use your creativity. For example, someone's teaching you something, and you ask a question - you have to think hard about what they're saying to find something that's unclear or other possible explanations, etc. You can't just listen to them. As for the person who's answering the question, they use prior knowledge of that topic. They just answer what they know, they don't have to dig deeper in their brains and make connections and so on.
Confusing, but thats my opinion. Also, asking being harder than answering isn't always the case.

Sweet! When you ask, you have to go into your heart and or mind and try to articulate or translate what you feel. When you answer, it is more surface, less deep and you can act out of a reaction to someone else's sacrifice which is rewarding. I said before "asking is a giving, answering is a taking." Taking is always easier, even though you're GIVING your opinion and possibly helping someone. Asking is more revealing and you feel exposed, like you may be setting yourself up for judgement. Good luck translating that into 5 year old language, but it sounds like this kid just might get it! Don't you just love em! I do.

I'll be the first to admit that I'd rather answer than ask. My mind has the ability to perceive an answer easier than forming a question. I seriously don't know what to ask most of the time, and when I have, I barely get any answers as my question is dull and boring, doesn't catch the eye of the one who would rather answer as I do..........peace and love

i sit here every day thinking about what to ask ... and its not that i don't have a million questions in my head lol
i feel i don't like to offend anyone in my questioning so i do tread carefully there
and i only answer questions i feel i have some knowledge on so it isn't about me thinking i know everything
my 5 year old teaches me more things every day than some of the answers on here mind you lol

Because everyone has an opinion about everything. But most people are not interested enough in others to ask!

Yeah, I have to agree with that, most people already have a preconceived notion of life. They don't want to shatter that idea, it's too hard from them to look at life any other way. To much work I guess.

you need to have this inquisitiveness or how you call it... and curiosity..... without that, you can hardly ever ask good, open-ended questions
