Man people are ill informed lol.
Assasins used needles to kill people? Yeah maybe when they were dipped in poison. You can sever the spinal chord and the heart will continue to beat for a few minutes.. Even if you severed both carotid arteries (with a needles and the windpipe it would still not be an immediate death thing.
However you drive a thick spike to someone's cerebral cortex (located in the back of the skull somewhat protected where the spinal chord meets) then you can probably kill them, and at the very least paralyze them.
But using an acupuncture needle even in that fashion would probably not kill someone, they pierce and remove small parts of the brain in brain surgery all the time, especially when dealing with aneurysms, this does not kill someone. So even if you could shove a needle all the way into the brain, chances are it would not cause immediate death.
So in my humble opinion it is not.

It is said to be real, but I don't know if it is or not. Dim Hsueh (Death Touch) uses negative applications of accupuncture or accupressure. I learned some of this technique, but I do not wish to really use it on anyone, so I cannot say if it works or not. One uses his fingers to touch someone and disrupt his chi. It is difficult to do this properly, but a touch can supposedly make someone die immediately or up to two years later. The Red Sand Palm allows one to project negative chi even through walls. It does not need one to touch his victim. I haven't studied any techniques that use needles, but I've heard of such things. The fingertips or the palm are enough for me. The victim of Dim Hseueh (more vulgarly Dim Mok) apparently dies of natural causes. There are rumors that someone used such a method upon Bruce Lee. The kiss of the dragon may be real. Some people who say it isn't have much to learn about Chinese martial arts.

Somehow I do not think so, having trained in Martial arts for 20 years I have never come across it. But then again who knows what these great Masters can do. Heard of trade secrets?

many assassins in china used needles to kill. its easy to sneak in, and throw away. jab someone in the neck and disrupt signals sent between the brain and heart can make someones heart stop. so yes but you have to know what you are doing otherwise you'd just piss someone off and they kick your butt.

Fiction.
One would have to either sever the spinal cord, windpipe, or two main arteries to accomplish this, and it is highly doubtfull it could be done with an acupunture needle.
