My live is a living hell at the moment with neighbours destroying my health. They constantly take drugs, play loud music from 6 in the morning right through the next morning, I am afraid to go out of my house because I get abused as do my neighbours. Can't ask the police because these yobs are in the paramilitaries, if they find out it was me who reported them then they would attack my family.

the local council will have a department to deal with this kind of thing. Join forces with others in the area

I know this isn't the answer you'd like, but as long as you live where there are neighbors nearby you run the risk of having to deal with noise or whatever else. I'm sure its true that they are being a nuisance, and there are laws against that, but your choices - it would seem - would be to move or wait it out. This type of neighbor doesn't tend to stay for too long.

If at all possible try to ignore them and the music. Get some ear plugs. The more you think about them the more aggravated you'll get and the worse the music will get to you. Its not much of an answer, I know, but unless you can go after them or move there isn't really a satisfactory answer other than ear plugs and try not to dwell on how aggravating they are.

I've had a similar problem in the flats that i live in. Music blaring till 5,6 sometimes 7 in the morning - smell of cannabis wafting up into the communal areas of the flat etc etc. The flats are rented so i first went to the landlord, he got in touch with them and told them there had been a complaint and if it didnt stop they would be asked to leave (or at least their contract wouldnt be renewed!). This didnt stop them (but its worth a try if you're renting) so we ended up going to the council and they wrote to them telling them they were taking action against them under some noise act.....It does usually work and it did in my case as they were there when we left for work one morning but not when we got back!!!
The police are no use in these situations as they dont (apparently) have any powers to go round and ask them to turn the music off / down which seems ridiculous. they would only be able to come round if they physically or verbally attacked you, as we found out when we tried to call them one night!!! As for them being paramilitaries that doesnt really matter you have the right to live in peace and without fear in your own home no matter who they are
Hope this helps :-)

in the first place COver your Faucking ears if you can't stand the noise...Poor or rich If I were you I'd move my family away.if you have the means to move out then do so. If you don't then there really not much you can do if the cops won't help you and your afraid of them hurting your family. If your a praying person then pray for a meteor the size of their cave to land on top of their faucking heads.

get some one that does not live in your area who can help.what kind of police do you have ,that dont respond to your calls?write to your governer .noise in any country world wide is not allowed after 11p.m.cant you move to another place?or maybe get outside help in the next county.i pray for your safety ,it sure scares me to hear what you are going through, play it safe ,because sooner or later those same people will end up behind bars.good luck and stay strong, from mikhal in israel.

If you have access to their electricity supply you should start by trying to cut that, I had this really stupid, noisy, partying neighbour who would play loud techno until early in the morning, so I cut off the electricity and at least we got some peace, and he was a bit more careful. You can also get some thugs to beat them up, and break a few fingers, if you're willing to pay.

Go to the police, and then get a restraining order. Keep notes on the times , and your calls and what happens. Get NAMES/ and times.
EVERY TIME they make noise above a tolerable level, call. If they break the law or threaten you or touch you, call.
YOU will become the neighbors from hell, and they will move!

If you are so terrified as to not want to call in the police/environmental health people, the best thing is to move! It means that they have won.

If you call in the police, something can be done, if there is any further action afterwards then that can be followed up.

It sounds as if these people are terrorising the entire street, if you report it, the police will not say who it was, the hooligan's friends may assume it was you, but it could have been anyone in the street.

If you don't want to report the crime to the police, use the crimestoppers number, it's anonymous and they won't give your name out, because you don't have to give it!

if you figure out how, let me know. my neighbor has 4 boys, all under 6 or 7 and it sounds like they bounce off the wall. our parking lot is either always filled with rocks and tree limbs or cars pulling up to make a deal. i have told the landlord but they are still here and i can't afford to move.

i dont have a clue what the paramilitaries(or wat eva) are. but if you tell the council over the phone then it would work. if the council dont do nothing then hire some bigger people to fight for you ,well not kill, just scare the noisy people. and before you batter them up tell the police. then keep you guards on roll so that even if some one does come to scare you you'd be prepared and dnt have to get injured or nothing. but you gotta be careful.good luck though.
